Last night I preached on a very simply and very thought provoking subject.  In the 9th chapter of Acts inthe 36th verse we read that Tabitha who was a disciple of Christ (the only woman to be labeled that in the Bible) had a heart for servant hood and  a passion for those around her.  From what we know she was constantly doing and serving other for Christ.  She then became ill however and died suddenly.  This rocked her community, they showed up at her bedside to weep her loss and they carried with them all the things that she had made them.  She had a definite impact on  the community and they came out to show how grieved they were that she was gone.  Now here is my question that I posed to our congregation, if our church closed the doors today would our community mourn the loss of our Churchor would they even notice.  So I ask you as well, if you were to suddenly pass away would those around you feel that loss.  And I don’t mean your immediate family I mean your neighbors and your co-workers and all the people that you have influence on.  If we are truly acting as disciples of Christ and we are out there helping others and serving then that loss will be missed.  Stay close to God and find that prupose for your life.
