Hebrews 12:25
25 See to it that you do not refuse Him who is speaking For if those did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, much less will we escape who turn away from Him who warns from heaven

As I was reading my devotion this morning this verse really jumped out at me, especially after last night.  For those reading that are not Edenites we had one of our pastors leave us to go home to be with the Lord unexpectedly yesterday.
It was a shock and obviously painful for the family that is left behind but one thing that Jim did do is listen to God when He spoke.  Jim had a vast knowledge of scripture and the text that I have ever seen.  Whenever someone said “I dont remember where this is but it says blah, blah, blah”, he always knew where it was.  Jim will be truly missed by all of us as Eden.

One thing that we must remember when taking in death is that for the believer it is a time of rejoicing because the individual who has passed is truly in a place that is far better.   A place where they spend eterninty at the feet of the father worshipping and praising.   Please keep Jim’s family in your prayers as he leaves behind a wife, 2 boys, grandchildren and a lot of friends.  I do know though that Home is where he wanted to be and for that I am truly joyed that he is there.
